Activities:
We love to ski:
But we do more than just ski!!
- Special Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day weekend events with
other clubs
- Annual awards banquet
- Annual canoe trip down the Saco River
- Other events in and around the Boston area
- Organized day hikes in the white mountains
And having the lodge makes it easier
to:
Take in a bicycle ride along scenic roads and trails, or go wild at the
local mountain bike parks
Go hiking:
The lodge is a great base camp for hiking and snowshoeing in
the White Mountains, and offers easy access to hundreds of AMC
hikes. Here are some good trips within 20 minutes of the lodge.
- The Moats: About 9 miles end to end, spectacular 360 degree
views along a mostly ridge-top trail that spans three roughly 3,000
foot peaks.
- Kearsarge North: About 6 miles round trip, magnificent views
and starts in a very short walking distance from the lodge.
- Chocorua: Loop trails of various lengths and difficulties over
a Matterhorn-looking peak. Go for a swim in the lake at the end of the
hike.
- Black Cap: Easy, easy, easy and great views. Two miles round
trip.
- Mt. Washington via Tuckerman's Ravine: You should already have
heard of this one, if not, you probably shouldn't try it.
Go canoeing or kayaking:
The lodge is within 20 minutes of the Saco and Swift rivers, and there
are plenty of places to rent canoes and kayaks.
Go climbing:
The lodge is five minutes away from Cathedral Ledge, and about half an
hour away from Frankenstein Cliffs and Champney Falls. Eastern Mountain
Sports and the International Mountain House in North Conway lead trips
and can provide you with additional information.
