SWSC Logo Winwood Lodge
"There are no strangers here;  only friends we haven't met yet."

Membership:

  1. Lodge and Lodge Gold: Has a permanent room & bunk assignment and year round access to the lodge with a master key. They receive first preference and are guaranteed their room & bunk when a reservation is made.

  2. General: Gets second preference. Only has access on organized weekends or when Lodge members are at the lodge.

  3. Associate and Race: Gets third preference. Only has access on organized weekend or when Lodge members are at the lodge. This is a limited membership.

Meetings... Meetings of the membership are held at 7:30 PM on the third Wednesday of the month in September, November, March and April.

Reservations... Only Members can make reservations for themselves and their guests. It's a good idea to make reservations for the January through March weekend which is our busiest time of the year. Reservations need to be made no later than 10:00 PM on the Wednesday preceding the weekend. Guests must make reservations through their member sponsor. If you don't have a sponsor you can contact us and one will be assigned to you from our Membership Committee. During the off season, no reservations are required for members.

Meals... On Saturday nights during the ski season, family-style dinners are prepared and served by a talented culinary team from the club's membership. Dinner cost is $12.00. A comprehensive selection of self-serve breakfast food is also provided.

Work Duties... Small chores are assigned on the January through March weekends to keep the lodge clean and in order. Now, now, it's not like you get to clean a 40-room, three story inn that was built in 1863 every day. Sorry, no maids are available! Members are required to sign up for one "work weekend" a year. These are usually held in early fall. In addition, members must serve on one club committee. Committees vary in their time commitments, but most have a few meetings a year. They consist of: Building & Land, Finance, Membership, Newsletter, Lodge, Social, Ski Racing, Fund Raising and Long Range Planning.

What else? Becoming a member does have some requirements which are designed to encourage you to get involved in the club and meet the other members. This is especially important when you're considering membership in the club. To be eligible for membership, you must spend at least four nights (winter or special summer holiday weekends) over three "organized" weekends at the lodge, attend one general meeting and make yourself known to the Board of Directors and members of the Club. Your sponsor will help you with this.
